Philosophy

Kara believes that portrait sessions should be fun and the images that come from your session should reflect your personality. Her philosophy is based on her experience and on her education as an historian.  Family portraits are more than just images of faces; they are part of your family history.  So when she photographs a portrait session, it’s not just about posing you individually or as a group, but about having fun, playing around, and creating memories of time and place.  She photographs most sessions on location – at your home, a park, or a setting that allows you to play and express yourselves.  She hopes that collections of your portrait images will become family heirlooms, to be passed down for generations to come.

Pricing

Solais Photography offers many different types of portrait photography:

• Standard Family/Kid Sessions
• Newborn Sessions
• Intimates Sessions (boudoir style photography)
• The Bebe Plan (a series of sessions during the first year of your child’s life)
• Headshots (acting and modeling)
• Executive Portraits

Our session fees start at $150 for a Standard Family/Kids portrait session; all prints, products, and digital collections are sold separately from our a-la-carte menu.  Some of the other portrait session types include select products or multiple sessions, and are priced accordingly.

All of our sessions offer the option to purchase the digital negatives from your session – either individual files or as one of our Digital Media Packages. We also offer a wide variety of prints, collages, cards, and albums, as well as several custom collections that we’ve created based on our clients most popular choices from the past.
